It's either a curse or a gift to have songs and lyrics running thru
your head all day long as I do.... I'm not quite sure which it is
sometimes. "Hollow" by Submersed is a song about the duality of relationships.... something to which I can
relate all too well. I love this song when I'm feeling introspective!
Submersed is an up and coming, hard rockin' young band out of
Stephenville, TX and one of my favorites of 2005. They feature of
an ex-Army soldier as lead singer; a former Texas high school QB
football hero (who--gasp!--turned down a full ride at SMU in order to form this
band--no doubt causing his parents much angst!); and a hot-shot teenage
shreader who turned down an op with Steve Vai's label to pursue this
dream, after being discovered by my best boy Mark Tremonti (founder of
Alter Bridge; rightly freeing himself of Scott Stapp's ego in Creed), who
co-produced their debut album, "In Due Time".
I've seen Submersed twice in the last year, opening for some top
rock/metal acts. Let me just say that they stole the show on both
occasions from the likes of Crossfade, Theory of a Deadman, Chevelle,
and Mud Vayne...and even gave Rob Zombie a run for the money one
night.
This

Submersed this summer. I really wished I coulda bought the band a
drink, but a couple of them are still under age!
